Machine shop data sources

Candidate listings begin with Overture Maps Places, using its stable record ID, business name, location, phone, website, category, source confidence, and release metadata. Overture is a starting inventory, not a claim that every record is open or correctly specialized.

Capability information is enriched only from each business’s official website. The crawler records the source URL, retrieval date, and a short internal evidence excerpt for an explicit statement about processes, materials, order types, industries, or self-reported certifications.

We do not copy Google Maps ratings, reviews, photos, or descriptions. We do not infer capability from a business name or category. Certification claims remain self-reported unless independently verified.

Before publication, records require duplicate review, industrial/automotive/supplier classification, evidence checks, and an exclusion or correction path. The current directory is still being reviewed; some records may be withheld until their source evidence is complete.
